Next Bmw 5-Series Sports Wagon may not come to U.S.! Could be replaced by the 5-Series GT!
BMW enthusiasts in the US are anxiously anticipating the arrival of the next-generation 5-series Sports Wagon after having received word that BMW is on the fence on whether it will push through with its plan to bring the car to US shores. The odds aren’t good.

BMW’s indecision is fueled in part by year-to-date sales of the 5er wagon, a disastrously low 395 units through June. The 5-Series wagon, which is only available in all-wheel-drive 535xi trim, recorded its sales peak back in 2005, with 2,351 units sold. BMW is relying on the new 5-series Gran Turismo, which will be released to the market in November. It expects to sell up to 4,000 GTs each year in the US, making up 10-20% of 5-series sales. It doesn’t look good as BMW is likely feeling that the wagon is expendable.

ICK!!!! Europe can keep them both. I haven't seen a single 3 or 5 series wagon since their redesign.

I used to sell BMWs and Audis. BMW wagons would sit on the lot and take forever to sell. BMW should stop bringing wagons to the US.

On the other hand, Audi wagons sold great.

Audi wagons physically look a ton better than those bloody BMW wagons.

BMW always managed to mess up the rear end on their wagons. On the other hand, the X5/X6 have a very handsome rear.
