Mercedes G-Class to get interior re-styling

Not only has Mercedes-Benz saved its G class, but it also will give the premium SUV a face-lift next year, company sources say.

The G class had been expected to be discontinued next year and replaced with the GL class, a larger, more luxurious SUV that will be assembled at Mercedes' U.S. plant in Vance, Ala.

Very nice car I think. There are only a few minor gripes with the car as it is. The interior can be refreshed, but minimally. The G has a very unique exterior which is timeless in design. A touch here and a touch there would be good.

What is up with that GL? I don't see the segue whatsoever in design from those spy pics. No heritage was taken into consideration when designing the GL. Keep the G but refresh it!
