VIDEO: 2010 Nissan GT-R's 7:26.70 Record Lap Time at the Nurburgring
We always enjoy watching cars lapping the Nurburgring's famous Nordschleife circuit but it's even better when you get the chance to see a supercar like the Nissan GT-R. This video, which was shot with an inboard camera, is from the 2010 GT-R's latest record breaking lap time of 7min 26.70 seconds that was achieved on April 23, 2009. The driver behind the steering wheel is Nissan's Chief test driver, Toshio Suzuki.

The Nissan GT-R's previous recorded lap times at the 'Ring' were:

I guess Nissan did this as an online learning opportunity for Porsche.

Holy crap, are you really going to compare a GTR to a Ferrari F430.

I'm telling you, the world has gone mad.

Hey, btw, come to Englishtown raceway, there are honda civic's that cost half as much as the GTR that will smoke the hell out of it in the 1/4, does that make it a better car?

The GTR was BUILT for the ring, that was Nissan's intention before they even started designing the car. The F430 is a TOURING car in its conception, execution and design.

BUILT for the ring?

From what I understand it will go one lap before the brakes and everything else overheats. Or am I wrong?

Good job Nissan!! Hope Porsche will quit whining now.

Funny with Porsche being so anal about the tires the GTR must have used I was expecting that the tires to be shown in the video. None the less nice lap, if the driver was a bit smoother I would expect at least half a second faster.

and we all know Porsche will "deny" this once again, even as they're filing those bankruptcy papers as we speak :)

They must not have timed a Veyron around the ring. All those long straights?

Too bad it still doesn't sound or look as good as the Carrera GT when it does lap the ring !!!

Doesn't look like stock wheel setup. None-the-less, wicked fast time.

F1 is in Germany now and can anybody tell, what would be the lap time(estimate) of current F1 car on Nordschleife? I am not sure but i think some 2 years back Nick Heidfeld of BMW tried it.

I guess it would be in 5 minute range not less.

Enough is enough lets all agree that the GTR is supreme. There is never goin to be a car setup from the factory that, depending on trim level goin to be quicker. The Vspec is comin................

The factory built out of the box Dodge Viper ACR recorded a 7.22.1. seems this car as fast as it is, is about 4 seconds off.

Why are you trying to make it sound like the ACR is special? You can make the ACR from the standard SRT-10 in a few hours. All you need is the spoiler the size of a bench, tires, stickers ad thats it.

Veyron My point exactly. The viper is special. It kicks royal @*^ without all the electronics. And just so you know I mentioned the ACR because it was the model Used.

"And remember, Porsche is the one that is able to win many international races each year."

Well that's just gosh darn nice for Porsche ain't it! That still doesn't negate the fact that GT-R is still a great car. You sound like you're grasping at straws again.

- Whatthe, You are obviously a Toy/Lex hater which i absolutely enjoy watching you look and sound like a complete idiot. Nevertheless, the day of reckoning is fastly approaching. The LF-A's official time of 7:24(about a year ago) may not be on your list but it sure as hell will be on the front pages of popular auto magazines worldwide when it's officially debuted.

You mean Porsche hasn't cried foul yet? Maybe the Germans are secretly crying in their bier.
