2010 Chevrolet Camaro Injects Excitement And Life Into Floundering GM
Believe it or not, General Motors has a hit car on its hands.

Amid the glood of bankruptcy and a miserable market for new vehicles, G.M.'s new Chevrolet Camaro muscle car is winning over consumers looking for a little excitement in a bland landscape of look-alike sedans and watered-down sport utilities

G.M. sold 9,300 Camaros during the month of June -- more than either its entire Buick or Cadillac divisions could muster on their own.

And with G.M. expected to emerge Friday from bankruptcy as a newly constituted company, it is hardly surprising that the Camaro will play a starring role in the company’s coming-out party and news conference at G.M.’s Detroit headquarters.

I wonder what sales will be like in a year... the newness factor will have worn off, but seeing them on the streets will entice many non enthusiasts to buy it.

I like the fact that the lowest engine you can get is a 300hp 3.6L DI engine. This won't be a car people will get bored of easily. However, I personally think they priced it way to low. Everyone is going to have one, which then begins the depreciation cycle all over.

Things like this are going to happen in the first 6 months or so of any model's existence. I like the attitude of the dealers though. Days gone by those guys would have been taken to the cleaners on grounds that they abused the cars. I read what Bob Lutz was saying the other day. The dealers that they decided to keep on were chosen not by the numbers that they sold, but also by the number of complaints owners had about their service. Most of the Camaros will be the V6/automatic so this won't be an outright epidemic. It should be sorted out without delay though. Chop chop...

i hate american cars. they usually suck balls.... but this one is pretty sexy. the only things i don't like is firstly that they wlil be EVERYWHERE - like mustangs now... and the 4 guages in the SS2 models. if GM can produce a few more cars like this in terms of styling appeal, i think they'll be ok.

How is it that they come up with such wonderfully looking cars, and despite all the lessons they should've learned, they still end up with a bunch of stupid recalls?! (Ahem... Land Rover)
Why don't they just sell their designs to another company who can let the population actually enjoy the beauty?

Don't know about you guys but I have seen my fair share of Camaros in the NYC/NJ region.

This car is a triumph of American styling.

The Camaro IS the only reviving tool for GM.

The Chevrolet dealers from Hawaii are trying to scam the consumers by selling the SS2 for about $53,000.00 versus getting the same camaro ONLINE for about $40,000.00.

My friend confronted the Sales Guy about he said: "Uuuhhh...due to shipping costs and extra fees....BS! No wonder GM is sinking because u have these jerk offs selling it WAY over the original price.
