STUD or DUD: Is Acura's ZDX Going To Take Down The X6?

Today, Acura unleashed several photographs and some basic information surrounding the production ZDX.   While it made the crowds buzz at the New York International Auto Show, with one of the larger debuts, many were left questioning the design of the new Acura.

Here's a good question: will this be a BMW X6 at an X3's price, or is it designed to take on the new 5-series GT?

Better yet, is this an early indicator of what Honda's Crosstour will borrow some stylistic cues from?

More importantly, here is what we know:

• The ZDX will be available this winter
• SH-AWD standard
• Will feature Acura's first six-speed automatic gearbox
• Powered by a 300-horsepower 3.7 liter V6 borrowed from the RL and TL

What's the general consensus in here, spies? Stud or Dud?

right on.... how long is it going to take for acura to own up to their huge design flaws with this front end they have plastered on all of their cars Great cars with fatal flaws - acura change your front ends and watch your sales increase...

Well, I think that most of people does not like pointless cars, X6 and this are not SUVs, they are not CLS type, they are not Sport cars, they are not sedans...then ???????????.....EAGLE AMCs??...may be let see what happen on the market...something is sure both will be expensive and as soon as people get bored cause those are not Big Space SUVs and they are not sport cars or regular elgant sedans....depreciation will hit so hard, than most of them won't pick those again.

can't say I'm a fan...but unlike most people here, I actually like the X6 so long as the option boxes are check - the X6 looks much better in person than I initially gave it credit. I saw a space grey one with running boards and black rims/sport pack and it was very impressive. Is it in it's own world and over priced? IMO, yes and yes

Can I say the same for this car-ish vehicle? Who knows, but we'll see if the American public goes for hatches this time around.

I could agree on the whatever Acura calls the X6 beater....definitley not in looks.....and i can say after going to a BMW dealer a week ago the X6 is definitley a car/truck that that offers more power and styling than the infinitis FX's and I dont even think the acura ZDX is even comparable i really have no words for that truck

The sale figures will be the answer for this question, however one thing ppl that didn't really take into consideration is the fact that the X6 only has 4 seats while the ZDX has 5. Regardless if ppl ever need that 5th seat, it always sounds better on paper.

It will be a best seller in it's segment.
The competition here is with the Infinity FX. Sorry to say that the X6 is a very rare car here, while the FX is in every corner.

Everyone here knows I sell Acuras. With that said, I am looking forward to driving this vehicle, but I don't think the driving experience is going to be enough to save this disaster in the making.

Is is me, but from the side shot is looks like someone took a giant slicing blade and made 3 different cuts to it.

DUD!!! Fire the Acura design team again. I think this was mentioned in a prior blog. You would think after the flak they took on their car front ends, the designers would have done a better job on this latest vehicle and be in tune a little more with what people really want. Definitely not this vehicle.

nothin special, looks like it could have been the mdx refresh instead acura decided to add a model.
x6 is better this is just more value, you will see plenty on the road.

I guess if it is going up against the X6, then it is ok. However, neither one of these cars is very appealing, in my opinion.

Looks like there is one person on this blog who actually likes this ugly vehicle. Otherwise, why would they post negative feedback when nearly everyone has given a negative review. I guess they probably own a Pontiac Aztec and thought it was a head turner too.
