Honda NSX “Super Hybrid Sports” in the works
Contrary to rumors, the NSX project has not been put on hold. In fact, Honda is moving forward with creating it albeit with a slight change to go for a more environmentally friendly approach. “Super Hybrid Sports” is what Honda is calling its new project, which according to sources, will be directly competing with Toyota’s FT-HS hybrid sports car.

The NSX was last seen at Nurburging last year where it impressed with its lap times. Previously indicated to power the NSX was the 600PS 5.5L V10; however, currently slated to be installed is a new powerplant seen to be the next generation “valveless throttle” 3.5L V6 coupled with a hybrid system (from the next-gen Legend/Acura RL).

The Germans had their HP wars that produced The RS6, S/SL/CL65, and the M5/6, now it seems like the Japanese are having an efficiency war. I guess competition is always good for the industry.

But are we sure that this is the next-gen NSX or is it a model under it. We all know Acura lacks coupes like other makes. So maybe this is a sub-NSX model because it just looks like a next-gen S2000 so I don't see anyone paying $100K+ for this with a V6 when you can get something like an R8.

^^^ I agree. Take the details (and certainly these renderings) and file them under "BS". However, the story is probably based in some truth. I say Acura should take the top off a car like that, keep it in the $60k range, and make it a Z4/SLK competitor. Acura would probably benefit from something like that more than an NSX replacement (at least in the short term)

How is 60K a Z4/SLK competitor?

It won't be the next gen NSX.
