Edmunds Inside line: Driving the 2011 Lexus LF-A
It's been almost 20 years since a Lexus first went on sale in Europe, and yet it has never managed to build a car to consistently rival the best of its European opposition. And that's why the 2011 Lexus LF-A is rumbling here next to us in the pit lane at the Goodwood Motor Circuit in the south of England.

Fresh from its second foray to the Nürburgring 24 Hours, the round-the-clock race on the old Nordschleife, the LF-A is moving toward its official introduction at the 2009 Tokyo Auto Show. It appeared here at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. And now we're going to drive it.

Lexus LF-A is superior to the SLR McLaren 722, ne porsche, or the enzo. The sound of the LF-A is a screamer just like how it'll make girls scream for MORE of that v10 sound.

At least wait until the car is officially released and properly tested before making outrageous statements.

LOL it is not superior to the 722 what are you on? that is hyper car royalty. Lexus is far from that status in any regard. They are good at what they do and that's luxury cars at a more affordable price. That's why they are so successful in doing what they do but as for ultra premium like the RR's, Bentley's, and Maybach's they are far from that prestige.

AWESOME CAR!
Honestly, it's an achievement for Inside Line to write something nice.
Unless... they did it out of courtesy. But still, I bet the car is nothing short of awesome!!!
I should place an order.

Agent009 now that you've noticed and expected my appearance and response...what next? Or should I say "WHO NEXT"? By the way, what are the rest of you haters afraid of? I'll tell you what you are afraid of! The truth, that's what! And the truth is The Lexus LF-A is going to be your worst nightmare! You could'nt see it coming because of your relentless blinding hate for Toyota and Lexus in general. You can bet each one of you know someone who owns, drives and love their Toyota/Lexus cars, trucks and suvs. The fact is the LF-A was designed to silence the nay-sayers and reveal Toyota's behind the scene engineering prowes. "Remember the Lexus LF-A has the hands down "WOW" factor. The day of Recokning is fastly approaching.

You and your Lexus friends said the same thing about the IS-F displacing the M3 and that didn't happen either.

Before making boastful and outrageous claims, why don't you at least let the IS-F be officially released and tested against the competition?

Not even Lexus intended for the IS-F to "displace" the M3. They built the IS-F to lure new customers of their own, and considering how well they are selling their allocation of IS-Fs, looks like they met their own goal.

"Privately we have been told that the race LF-A is very close to the road car"

Oh my god, that's the best sounding V10 I've ever heard!

they're holding nothing back, this is basically a road legal race car that'll rev past 9000rpm, made of carbon-fiber, Lexus luxury and reliability, drop dead gorgeous looks, nothing can touch this!!!

"Lexus people claim that it was 30 seconds a lap faster than the Aston Martin V12 Vantage RS that competed in the same category"

30 seconds a lap faster? yikes!

Next time badgewhores and eurotrash mention "prestige" "pedigree" and blah blah blah just utter the words...

LF-A

that'll shut them up :)

Bring out the laughing gas. Yeah the first run at the 24 hour Nürburgring, the LF-A made it halfway before falling apart.

The LF-A has accomplished nothing. So to spew this nonsense about how " its the best and all ferrari's bow down " or look out Aston Martin, who are you crappin?

Have you seen Ferraris on fire? well, ENJOY!

"The LF-A has accomplished nothing."

Did you watch the video asshat?

4:08 "Top of the Class" "LF-A crosses the finish line 15th overall, marking the class's top record"

and this LF-A is only a development with minor prepping only, competing against veterans of the race circuit with tens of thousands of hours for those Corvette's, Astons, Audis etc.

Don't be resentful cause BMWs nothing but ultimate poser-mobiles for the 30k millionaires.

No. I know for a fact that there are many others on this website who would do just about anything to diminish and shove away any interest in any Lexus product.

interestingly, on this and many other threads, it seems the toyota/lexus haters evince FAR MORE interest than even lexus fans!

WHY is this???? must be fear/hatred/jealousy/envy......
