Limited edition Porsche 911 Carrera Supersport in the works
2009 Porsche GT3Porsche is coming up with a “very limited edition” 911 Carrera Supersport (possibly named Sport Classic in the US) to be bared next year. Released in 1984, the original Supersport was a regular 911 with some of the 911 Turbo model’s cosmetic and performance enhancements, such as the Turbo tail, suspension, and brakes. The 2010 model will take a current 2S model wearing the 4S widebody flanks, GT3-style front and rear bumpers, a double-bubble roof, and supposedly a ducktail spoiler reminiscent of the 2.7 RS.

YES! Definitely what Porsche aficionados have been waiting for since the last widebody Carrera-S back in 1995.

Should be yummy, but probably overpriced due to its obvious fate as a collectible garage queen to be kept and flipped among collectors.

WAIT, just saw the price... $220,000?!? Must be the price in England, because there is no way in hell Americans would pay that much instead of a GT2, GT3 or Turbo for less.

It should be priced at no more than a $15-20K premium over the standard S, similarly equipped.

Looks about as crappy as every 911 since 1970.

The price will be interesting to watch, but already, a few options push regular Carerra S models nicely over 100K when you really could just get a GT3 for $112K and call it a day
