Brutal Elegance? Audi RS6 Test Drive

I am still a big fan of the mid 90's RS6. this one here is just sure elegance and incredible hulk power under the hood. audi always does a really good job on their RS packages

Amazing car, if I had to pick, I would take this over the M5 and CTS-V. I think the performance specs could be a little better considering the HP and Torque. 0-60 in 4.5 secs puts it behind the M5 and the CTS-V which are both around 4-4.1 seconds and the 0-100 at 10 seconds is also behind the BMW and the Caddy both of those cars are mid to low 9 seconds to 100 w/less HP/TQ. I guess the extra weight of the AWD system is the culprit.

Actually it's 4.5 sec from 0-62 mph.
That translates to about 4.3 secs.
In a straight line, the RS6 has always been faster than the M5 and E63.
Not sure about the CTS-V, but would think as well.

wrong there, the RS6 has been tested before MONTHS ago, it will not out run the CTS-V, and merely keeps pace with the M5 while many mags have said that the M5 is the more entertaining car and that the RS6 still comes across as a straight line car.....all this with more hp than both cars mentioned above. The one thing it does have going for it is its styling, it certainly looks better than the M5, really like the muscular clean look no fussy details especially in that color it looks amazing

I've watched a RS6 Avant pull away from a M5 up to about 270 kph. The RS6 sedan would probably be even faster but at least the same as the wagon. Besides, that's a manufacturers est. on 0-100kph.

Exactly AlexTx........in fact with that much HP and torque I think a Car&Driver 0-60 time would be 4.0 sec's flat. Maybe 4.1.....

i've always been a fan of the RS6 and this did not change my mind. if i could afford one, this car would sit in my garage until track day. imagine this thing chipped running 100 octane. pure beast.

Brilliant car. Id take it over an M5. Havent seen the new E-class in person, so il compare them when i get the chance.

Bodykit looks silly to me. Stereotypical electric blue color isn't helping matters either. Sure it's great in a straight line, but the twisties would probably leave me wanting the M5. Looking forward to the new A6/RS6.
