What are the most expensive cars to own?

You may feel an impulse to swallow hard before you purchase a car with a price that pushes near or even into six figures. But hold on to your wallet, because the dollar drain has just been opened.

The full cost of ownership for any automobile can be eye popping. The figures for expensive luxury models are especially high because vehicle depreciation — the loss of resale value as a car, truck, van or sport utility vehicle ages — is the biggest single car ownership cost, said Michael Calkins, manager of approved auto repair for the AAA National Office. For a vehicle with a higher initial purchase price, the loss adds up to a greater monetary amount than it does for a low-cost car that began its life with little to lose.

They are the most unreliable German car (other than VW)

They are the most expensive by a landslide.

And now with Mercedes having dropped their Free Maintenence (which was already included in the price of their cars) to boost profits comes this news.

Tell me again why Mercedes are still so popular.

Their model range has become so big and out of control that they cant seem to focus on brand identity and quality workmanship.

There is NO REASON to choose a Benz over a BMW or Audi anymore.

Their cars are disasters waiting to happen.

Why would anyone want to pay tons more money for these junky cars.

Sorry to be Harsh, but I just cant understand where all this so called quality (and Money) goes.

FYI the IS350 has 48 more HP than the C350. 20 more ft lbs of torque.


I personally think that audi makes the best interior.

If luxurious != well made and reliable, I'd pass on mercedes.

I test drove MBs. I'm still not impressed. Audi has surpassed them in quality (YES, quality), interior design, safety, and styling! Not to mention that the premium you used to pay for a MB is nowadays worth nothing!
