Alfa Romeo 8C GTA scheduled for 2011

Last week we told you that the convertible version of the Alfa Romeo 8C Spider was priced under $300k but today we found out more news regarding a new model based on the stylish vehicle.

It appears that the Italian manufacturer is currently preparing a GTA version of the coupe, which is going to hit the showrooms by 2011. The new coupe will be even lighter than the 8C Spider but this is not all: the car will get a new aerodynamic kit while the V8 engine will receive some extra power and torque

I absolutely love this car. If I had the money, the 8C would be the car of choice. The only problem with the car is that it really is a halo car for Alfa exemplifying traits of the entire range. It looks amazing, but its performance isn't up to par for its price point or competitors. On this type of car, unreliable is just assumed, but it is reflective of the rest of the range.

Needs to compete with Maserati, not Ferrari or Lamborghini.
