Mercedes-Benz and Renault to build the next-generation Smart Fourfour
Rumors that Mercedes-Benz is planning to create a roomier Smart two-seater vehicle have been circulating since the launch of the Smart four-seater vehicle several years ago. According to a report by Manager-Magazin, Mercedes is in talks with Renault for a new four-seater to be sold under the Smart brand.

No details about this or of a potential smart four-seater model have been released. Last March, it was Autoexpress that discussed the possibility of a Fortwo + 2, a model based on the Fortwo, except for the rear doors.

Mercedes is too big of an premium brand to be able to build a cheap car. They have to go to Renault a more economic company to work with so prices can be cut.DUH!
