Photos: Porsche 997 with the $3000 custom Cobalt blue color option

If you're in one of the smaller markets around the country, you don't see dealers order Porsche's with the custom color option very often.

And it's hard to tell from the lame Porsche brochures what you'll end up getting for the extra 3G's.

So thanks to the guys at PHXCARS.com here's your opportunity to see the new 997 in the custom Cobalt blue color.



In my opinion, I don't think the color works well on the car.

The best custom color we've seen on the car is the Slate grey. it looks fantastic in real life.

What colors do you all like on the new 997?

I think the 997 Carerra looks best in the Olive Green color.

It is also a $3000.00 option.

I like the cobalt blue, but for 3k I don't like it that much. Needs to be a little deeper. Black is the best color for sure, granted the owner knows how to properly care for it. Nothing worse than a black car with streaks and swirl marks all over it.

Cobalt blue does NOT look like it should cost more! BTW, the vast majority of folks think that SILVER is the most attractive color to buy. I agree that black looks great on certain vehicles, but after having had a black car in the past, I learned that it showed EVERY single spider-line scratch, EVERY speck of dust and dirt, and it was always hotter inside the vehicle, like a solar panel. Pretty when it was clean for a couple of hours right after the wash. That was it. Not worth it, when silver and some of the new slate metallics are better choices overall.

what do you mean by the comment:

..."and in a 911 of all places"

That colour is a Porsche 911 trademark. Beige and light tones have dominated many Porsche cockpits over the years.
