If you want to make this new Austin Healey faithful to the original, how about giving the engineering and design contract to the Japanese?

They will copy the styling, handling, even exhaust note, creating an authentic replacement.

Well Mazda did it with the MX-5......

If this really came into being, that would be cool. The Austin Heally 3000 was always a childhood fav of mine cause my granddad had one. However, for years I always see these Brit mags "scoop" the next new British Car to make a comeback, just to find out later that that particular automaker is now going out of business (Rover, eg.)
So I won't be holding my breath.
