Suzuki Kizashi Photos Abound! Have They Finally Scored a Hit?

Suzuki Kizashi Photos Abound! Have They Finally Scored a Hit?
The Suzuki Kizashi, will be the company's flagship model and is expected to arrive in North American showrooms late this year. The last rumor indicated possibly December.

Targeting the lucrative and all important midsized sedan market, we expect the Kizashi to challenge the lower end of this market, stacking particularly against Mazda’s 6 Series and possibly lower end Toyota Camry models.

AWD and FWD models will be initially shipping with a 2.4 liter 4 cylinder motor and a 6 speed manual transmission.  A CVT automatic is expected for those who prefer to leave gear shifting to the Kizashi.

With sharp styling and nice interior we expect the Kizashi to finally breathe life into Suzuki showroom floors.

Take a look at these shots and tell us are they on target, or have the missed the mark all together?

It's a nice step up for Suzuki but doesn't appear to have much to distinguish itself from what it will be competing against.

Agent001 do you still see 7 series in that?

To me the side view resembles Kia Rio or Subaru Impreza Sedan, rest of the design is very close to Suzuki SX4 sedan.

Hopefully this will be built in japan unlike the accord and camry. Quality control here in the should be better than in Japan but it isnt.

And hopefully a turbo awd will be offered eventually.

Nowhere near as interesting as the prototypes suggested.

Bulbous Jetta eyes and a somewhat Chryslerish snout, Hyundai-like tail lights the sides of a BMW-like trunk lip and a Daewoo/Sebring side profile.

This is a textboox example of Asian understanding of western design. For example, a pagoda looks rather different from a gothic cathedral and while each may be beautiful in their own way, side-by-side they look like crap. The same goes for the design language of cars. Trying to make one item (this car) be all things to all people/cultures pretty much guarantees a design disaster.

Now I'm gonna pull out my chopsticks and go have some Leberspaetzle ... :)

It's a piece of junk.

I would rather drive a red Dodge truck.

Looks decent, but the company needs to change their image and this car isnt going to save them. I doubt this car will be better than the compitition. The looks are average. I wouldnt say its a piece of junk because, well noone knows yet,but i will say its a step in the right direction...... a baby step.

A hit or not depends on its price. At $20K or above, no. At $15K competing against Civic and Corolla, it has some chance to sell well.

If I didn't see the car name in title I would have thought it was the next VW Jetta. I agree with that!
