Lamborghini shows profit despite the financial crisis
In these difficult days, profit — no matter how low — is being applauded. Lamborghini’s profits may have plunged to €5.4 million in the first half of 2009 from €35.2 million in the same period last year. That’s still an excellent feat considering that many car manufacturers reported losses all around.

Turnover was €162.8 million, down 43.3%, the direct result of a 37% drop in car sales from 1,309 cars in the first half of 2008 to 825 cars in the first half of 2009. It appears that the markets showing the sharpest decline were the economies worst hit by the worldwide recession.

Audi clearly is the star during this recession. Not only has Audi made a $1 billion profit itself for the first-half of 2009, but it has also accounted for more than 80% of Volkswagen Auto Group's profit for the first half of the year.

Audi owns Lamborghini and Lamborghini has somehow managed to remain profitable despite the fact that it sells cars that 99% of the world's population can't afford.

The big carmakers should learn a thing or two from Lambo. Production volume is in line with its sales volume, hence the profit.
