Honda recalls 440,000 vehicles

Honda recalls 440,000 vehicles
Because of a potentially lethal airbag defect on the driver’s side, Honda Motor Co. is recalling another 440,000 vehicles. The original announcement to recall some 2001 Accord and Civic sedans was made last November.

Due to too much air pressure, the airbag inflators in some of its top-selling sedans can rupture causing metal fragments to shoot through the airbag and strike vehicle occupants. Already, one fatality and a number of injuries have been reported. Honda spokesman Sage Marie said that the recall covers certain 2001 and 2002 Accords, 2001 Civics and some 2002 and 2003 model Acura TL sedans.

Mitchel, I guess that means you don't own a German car. I own a Merc and a Bmw and the Merc has been recalled a couple of times for safety and mechanical reasons (S430). I remember when they recalled all of the ml's because the thing would cut off in the middle of the expressway and they blamed on heavy keys.
