Diesel vehicles boost Volkswagen’s sales
Although dealing with serious economic problems, Americans seems to be very willing in spending money for the 4-wheels accessories . Latest report of Volkswagen of America show very good sales results for the last 3 months, registering a growth of 0.7% on July 2009 over last year’s July, more exactly a total sale of 20,590 units.

Over 30% of the sales is collected by the important brands of Volkswagen- Jetta, Jetta SportWagen, and Touareg TDI- all of them registering great success after the re-launch. Each brand managed to reach a monthly average sales of 2,400 units, the most demanded versions being the clean diesel TDIs, especially for Jetta Sportwagen.

Indeed the most twisted comment I've read on the internet. US & Jap companies all make guzzling V8 SUVs and trucks, the Germans do not. The only expection being the low volume tourag/Q7 et al.

If you replaced all the Jap/US V8 SUV's and trucks with TDI tourags/Q7's etc America would simply consume almost 1/2 the oil it did the day before. How's that for lowering the US's addiction for oil?

Oh, and by the way, the Diesel hybrids are coming which means they will kick the a$$ off the gas hybrids on the freeways in terms of mpg, and still have boatloads more torque.

What ever twisted way you spin it, diesel engines get better mpg than gas engines. Fact. You have to twin the Hybrid/gas' = diesels, and wait until the diesel hybrids come out. Game over.
