Daimler Losing Faith in Smart?
Looks like Smart is losing the confidence of its German owners. The wounded Daimler corporation is frustrated with Smart's failure to produce real profits. Smart's fate will hinge on two major projects: one is an all-electric version of the ForTwo, and the other is the more accessible ForFour (which will be coming back after a hiatus). Smart will try to regenerate public interest with a demonstration electric in the next year.
