Aston Martin Rapide Production Interior Shot

Aston Martin Rapide Production Interior Shot
Though Aston Martin released a few images of the Rapide’s final design back in April, the automaker was secretive about the interior. Now, an image has surfaced on the Web that appears to depict a production interior.
The Rapide — which is based on Aston Martin’s concept from 2006 — will compete with vehicles like the Porsche Panamera in the ever-growing luxury four-door coupe segment.

As you can see, the production version will be very similar to the concept car, but does swap out quad-air intakes for upper and lower grilles.
The rear of the car has strong family ties to other Aston Martin models, and sports ’smoked’ rear taillights. From the rear view it also appears as though the Rapide will feature either a glass roof or panoramic sunroof, a feature supported by the latest images.

The above comment is just absurd. The original ES250 was simply a sedan with a smallish cabin. A Cressida with a Lexus badge.

You fool, the ES250 was literally a 4-cylinder Corolla with a different grille and a leather interior. That's no 4-door coupe.

just like the exterior, interior looks exactly like DB9 and V8 Vantage.

Ok - It's very nice and all, but... I fail to understand why it's taking so long to bring this vehicle to production, especially given that it looks for all the world like little more than a stretched version of their current line-up of coupes (DB/Vantage etc). Astons, as handsome as they are, appear to be trapped in a design language that makes every model too similar in both appearance and concept, and I feel that it might be a good time to try something different/more creative. I wish them the best with this effort, but personally, I've lost all interest.

I think Aston Martin a low volume car maker is fine with having similar desighn language. The rapide is the 4 door version of the DB9, a true 4 door coupe, not a sedan restyled to have a low roof, and more rakish windshield aka a restlyed sedan. As far as companies who seem to have desighns that are lazy, Audi.....as each model looks like variations of the same model, and the new ones just look like refreshes of the previous models. The same goes for Porsche every car in Porsches lineup looks like some variation of the 911, from what if the 911 was an suv, to what if it as sedan, and what the 911 look like if it was midengine.

@ bmwdrvr, talk about completely missing the point. All the guys said was, "I fail to understand why it's taking so long to bring this vehicle to production" since it really does look like just a 4-door version of their exsisting coupes, and you go off on some wild tangent. I agree, there's no reason for this car to still be in the development stage after all this time.

Deharder

I completely agree with you.

And even though I find Astons beautiful, I got bored of their looks now.
