Review: Spruced up 2006 Audi A4

The 2006 model of the Audi A4 is more contemporary, keeping the car current with a new wave of competition coming its way.

It is not exactly what you might call a "new" A4. It is based on the same platform as the old car. On Audi's to-do list was a new exterior, a revamped suspension, some tweaking of the interior and some new engines.

Like a well made, tailored suit, Audis always have a nice look and are put together beautifully. Kudos to the update.

I love the new rear end. The only problem I'm having is there is no cost savings over the 3-series anymore. I love audis, but they need to make a few more changes to get me to ditch my 330i.

#1: A4 3.2 needs to have xenons standard.
#2: Technology Package color info screen should be standard on 3.2.
#3: Quattro is great, but 3748 lbs for 3.2 w/Tiptronic? Increase use of aluminum on 3.2 model to reduce weight.
#4: Add atleast an inch to rear seat legroom. e90 has added an inch and in my opinion, it's made a huge difference.

I would also like to add that the new 2.0t is a signifigant improvement over the old 1.8t. However, the e90 will be upping displacement in 18 months. I hope Audi has some plans for the near future.

Thanks... BMW finally started making those standard on the 330i (like the logic 7 stereo upgrade.) I really am German car fan. I'm not bashing Audi here, I just wish that the 3.2 Quattro was as fast as my 2001 330i. Kinda keeps me from buying a new car.

I hope what you say is true. I feel that Audis are the best designed cars out there. I had a TT and loved it. Of course, pushed to the limit, the front would wander twords the trees. But it was a fun car.

VAG must work on thier electrical problems. I've had three of their cars, and each one had electrical issues. I may come back someday.
