Honda Civic Type R to be shipped to Japan, will it come to the U.S.?
Honda of UK announced today that its popular 3-door Civic Type R hatchback will be shipped to Japan and will go on sale in 2010. The model, which will be called Type R EURO, will built at Honda’s plant in Swindon and will be exported to Japan.

Japan is the third country outside Europe to import the high-revving hatchback, where it will be sold in limited numbers.

We would love for Honda of UK to export the Civic...

Very cool hatch, but... What would be the point of bringing this to the U.S. now since this is based on the model/generation due for replacement in 2011 anyway?

Exactly what I wanted to say. The only thing better in the European version is the look although U.S are anything but bad lookers.

Honda of UK exports it to Ireland, Japan, etc.........Note these are all Right Hand Drive Countries.
We drive on the wrong side of the road (this is disputed)...therefore, none of these here.....

This with a true k20a powerplant not the watered down k20z3/z4, and reduced weight would be perfect for the US market. The euro one is as fast a US civic si, and just has heavy.
