100mpg Electric Hummer H3E to be revealed at Plug-In Conference
A Hummer capable of 100mpg? Electric also? What the…? Raser Technologies announced today that their new 100mpg Electric Hummer H3E will make its official debut at this year’s Plug-In Conference in Long Beach, California. The new vehicle is maybe the greenest Hummer of all times, and we don’t refer to the color…

According to the manufacturer this beauty uses electric motors till the speed reaches 40 mph after which a small gasoline engine is used to recharge the batteries, giving the Hummer a range of 400 miles before refueling.

"400 miles before refueling" does this 100mpg hummer only hold 4 gallons (15liters) of fuel?

Gasoline does weigh a lot, which is one of the main reason why the Volt's gas tank was reduced, but this Hummer sounds pretty amazing. The Prius 100mpg concept failed to achieve an average of 100mpg, but I'm not surprised because the gasoline engine obviously had to work harder when given more work.

Still, I'd like to see this in a lightweight H1. Make it carbon fiber or something. I'm sure that those multi-billionaires would purchase one over the average Range Rover.

Really? A carbon fiber h1? That's a stupid idea imo, the beauty of the H1 was that you could beat the shit out of it and take a hammer to it to straighten out the dents. Carbon fiber is hella expensive to repair.

Yea right. We need a real world 100mpg equivalent vehicle. Not a cooled warehouse with optimal conditions.

I hope that they have fixed there air bags, my brother has a 2009 H-3 T alpha and when he was driving down the paved road and hit a bump the air bags deployed, then the ambulance came, and it needed to be towed away! What a POS, Hummer never fully reimbursed his rental vehicle cost, he is also in the works to sue Hummer! This H-3 sounds too good to be true, although I know this is possible, the gov would never let this come to the market.
