Review: The best sports car for the money?



Sports Illustrated magazine has a fine tradition — a swimsuit issue in February to snatch readers out of the cold-weather doldrums. Thus given license, we'll examine a machine best in fair weather just as the weather's gone foul many places to remind us that dry roads aren't gone forever from the Snowbelt.

In the spotlight: Chevrolet's 2006 Z06 Corvette sports car. It is a breathtaking reminder that driving is, and ought to be, glorious fun.

The Z06 is a higher-performance version of the already high-performance Corvette. And what's great about it is the same thing that's great about the Corvette generally. You get stunning acceleration, handling, braking, steering and style in a car you can comfortably drive every day for a price the exotic foreign guys can't touch

I think the Lotus Elise is a great value for the raw, sheer performance it offers. A true "back to the fundamentals" drive it is!

YES,

No doubt about Z06 being ONE of the best sports car for the money.

BUT

If u just take a look at it's upcoming Japaneese rivals such as Nissan Skyline GTR,Mitsubishi Concept X (Next Evolution 10),Honda Civic Dominator Concept,Acura NSX,Upcoming Toyota and Honda monsters.

They r even better sports car for the money than the Z06.

AND EVEN THE FACT IS THAT NO OTHER MANUFACTURE CAN MAKE BEST SPORTS CAR FOR MONEY BETTER THAN JAPANEESE.


Every thing is fine with Z06 but we can't ignore it's bigggg engine blocks like 6.0,7.0 litres...etc

On the other hand japanesse cars r all in the range of 2.0 to 3.5 litres.

(Well it is just an advantage,there r many to list but that's enough for u to take a japaneese sports car over any other if u r a Cost consious person)

The performance is awesome, I don't think Japan is going to be able to compete with it, at least not at a reasonable price.

I find it strange that GM can build such a great sports car like the Corvette, and also build a product like the Aztek. How has the Corvette avoided the corporate bloat so well over the past two decades? I can't figure that one out.

Taek u r the only sensible guy i have seen so far in this argument.

ANd MN_Audi what r u talking about,Civic in it's standard from only looks quite sporty and u r talkin about the upcomin Civic Dominator,Do u have any idea about the term SPORT.Sedans r far ahead but even the SUVs can be made a SPORTY,if u have the ability.

Then i started mentioning other BEST SPORTS CARS FOR THE MONEY (Rivals) which r especially coming from Japan,If there were any from Euro then i would have stated them too but there is no EQUAL Euro Car to compete with Z06.

I just mentioned other great sports cars for the money lower/better or equal in value to Z06.

But i just want to know why only u guys consider Z06 with 505BHP as the good bang for the buck and not Dodge viper with 500BHP as well.

AND also all SRT,tuned cars from GM as the "The best performing cars for the money".


THE REASON IS WHAT U ALL KNOW
