Toyota to boost production of 2010 Lexus HS 250h to meet demand
The brand new Lexus HS 250h, which just made its debut last month in Japan and the U.S., is selling like hot-cakes. According to Japan’s Nikkei, Toyota was targeting 500 sales per month, but has already received close to 9,000 orders.

Toyota, which produced 2,000 units of the HS 250h in July, in now looking to nearly triple production of the dedicated hybrid Lexus model by October. Officials said that employees has been working overtime to keep up with the...

their goal was only 500 cars per month? why so low? cars 3 times that price sell more volume.

Lexus in Japan isnt a big hit. and also, the Japanese car industry is worse than the American car industry

demand is relative to price. this is a mid-priced car, so 9000 units isn't exactly impressive. lexus sells over 100k units of the similarly priced RX. this is a niche model. big deal.

This car has some nice interior features and tech, don't think it is as crappy as people try to make it out to be. Now if only it were able to get more than 35mpg.

agreed that lexus rushed the HS. If they used the new 2.5 liter that just debuted on the camry, it would probably be more fuel efficient

I hate this Lexus.

good looking from only certain aspects. From other perspectives,... the vehicle only makes matters worse for me when people ask me why I'm a Lexus fan.

Another hit for Lexus. They know what people want, and they deliver.

this is a hit?? if it's lucky, this will be the 5th or 6th model in lexus line-up (outsold by the IS, ES, RX and LS for sure).

so you must consider the 1-series a 'hit' for bmw since it sells slightly higher volume right?

Lets see the number around December 31. It will end up being right behind the Rx for demand.
