VIDEO: Excellent Demo Of The Fully Virtual Dash Cluster And Other Toys On The New Jaguar XJ

Ahead of its official North American debut at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance, Jaguar gave us a look at the new XJ in San Francisco. The new XJ was designed by Ian Callum and is a radical change from the previous body style, which was little changed for 40 years. The new car's look might tweak Jaguar purists, but the lines are modern. In some respects, it resembles the XF. The XJ will be Jaguar's flagship sedan, and the first launch under new owners Tata Motors. The new XJ features some impressive tech,its most over-the-top feature being a virtual instrument cluster.

I like this. It may replace my LS460. I've always been a fan of British luxury but I'll wait a year or two before I make that decision. It looks very classy as a Jag should. I hope the reliability is improved. It looks like an awesome place to be.

Do you really consider this an "Excellent Demo Of The Fully Virtual Dash Cluster" - it's just a bunch of stills showing what the TFT can do, cool shots, but just shots.

You're better off showing this video from the 2010 Range Rover if you really want to see a live demo of TFT.

I Heart this car.
I hope I win the Lottery tonight so that I can put my downpayment on it tomorrow. I'll take mine in GREEN with Tan interior loaded... Yes I would like to Supercharge it please.

I like this guy. He usually knows what he is talking about. There aren't any robotic narration, but you would still get all the information you need and want - mostly in terms of gadgets, of course.

This XJ is so awesome, but there are even more features that I don't know how to fix with my bare hands. It looks like the dealer will be the only people I can take my car to - even for that simple little touch sensitive thing that opens the glove box.

Still, it's a great car. For those who have the money, long wheelbase is highly recommended.
