AutoSpies has found out that Cadillac is previewing the vehicle to big wigs and wants to hear their thoughts on the new designs.  Located in SoCal -- Santa Fe Springs -- the event is happening in a secured facility.

If you went to the event, we want to hear from YOU!  Send us your feedback on the latest designs from Cadillac!

If the next generation Escalade looks anyting like the ATS and XTS that 00R saw in Detroit this past week, it will be HOT.

Though this is a very old rendering, it's clear that placing the next-gen Escalade on the same platform as the Outlook/Enclave/Traverse/Acadia platform is a logical step... SUV's are dead (for the most part), and many will be looking towards full-sized crossovers.

I don't think GM will "play games" with this particular vehicle. If it does end up on the ?Lambda? platform like the Enclave/Traverse, it will be a differentiating exterior design. But I'm sure the basic exterior of the Escalade will depend on the next Tahoe/Yukon; and those designs may influence the next Suburban/Avalanche/EXT.

The most profiting vehicle in GM's lines up. A luxury tahoe

Don't you mean a LX 470 a luxury a.k.a Toyota Land Cruiser? The one that has the same, quality pledge rust issues the Tundra has?

While it could be true that SUVs are dead, there is still a huge following for large, high, Full sized wagon type vehicles for government and VIP duties and for the "armored" market which only a truck chassis can accommodate. The challenge is to design a fuel efficient engine that can supply the required torque and horsepower.

Why do government vehicles need a fuel efficient engines? It's not like a armoured black suv is going to be any more appreciated if it gets 20 vs 10mpg.

A sample size of "your street" proves nothing.

Big SUVs are fading fast. It's not the cost, fuel consumption or anything else. It's just the bad perception of them by the public.

No marketing dept. can overcome that.

Now a fully electric Escalade however...

Don't fool yourself, all indicators lead to a surge, once again in the demand for larger vehicles. If there is a demand, someone will supply it. Bottom line. I can't think of being like Europe and began to limit them. What should happen is the demand for more fuel sipping vehicles and required by the consumer. All can bitch like little girls, and that is what it sounds like, about how hideous, trashy, pious hide behind the environment butt holes. It is what it is, get over it and move on and stop being so self serving, arrogant, hide behind the environment morons and let be be.

Leggieri represents a return by vehicle buyers to a sector of the industry that lost traction when fuel costs soared. Nationwide, 51 percent of all vehicles sold in the United States in December were pickups and SUVs. It was the first time since February that truck sales exceeded car sales, according to industry analyst Edmunds.com. Until the gas crunch, large vehicles consistently outranked small-car sales.

DePaula Chevrolet sold 14 of Hummers’ smallest HT3 models in December, a record for 2008.

The dealership is offering the HT3s for about $24,000, a $11,000 discount off the original sticker price.

Trucks and sport utility vehicles will outsell cars for the first time since February, according to a December report by Edmunds.com, which tracks industry statistics.
"Despite all the public discussion of fuel efficiency, SUVs and trucks are the industry's biggest sellers right now as a remarkable number of buyers seem to be compelled by three factors: great deals, low gas prices and winter weather," said Michelle Krebs of AutoObserver.com, a division of Edmunds.com, in a prepared statement.
