Oshawa mayor criticized for buying a 2010 Camaro SS
For political figures to enjoy high-performance cars without being criticized is very difficult. When President Barack Obama ran for election last year, he dropped his HEMI powered Chrysler 300 for a Ford Escape Hybrid. Well, the mayor of Oshawa, Ontario is about to do the same if he doesn’t stop getting ridiculed for purchasing a new 2010 Chevrolet Camaro SS.

John Gary’s recent purchase, a 426-hp Victory Red 2010 Camaro SS with white stripes, has gotten local critics ”screaming mad” .

“Our mayor is flaunting this gas-guzzling vehicle all around town,” complains constituent Bill Steele. “Our taxes are...

It takes a real special kind of asshole to complain about a car that someone else is driving.

I say kudos to this guy who refused to drive a crappy car because it's boring.

lol, I could see if it was an expensive car, people might get interested into whether he is using tax dollars... but it isn't even expensive haha.

It's sad, but it seems that when involved in politics, at any level, you need to be seen riding a car with an "hybrid" badge. The guy would have had less complaints if he had used tax money to buy himself a gaz guzzling 140 000 $CAN Lexus LS600HL with a HUGE "HYBRID" badge.

That is ironic, and sad at the same time.

Not to mention that the camaro is built in Ontario, the guy is encouraging local economy.

Who cares what he drives, It's made in his home province! We should be mad at what we pay him, not what he drives! When he drives this thirsty vehicle around he will have to fill it up frequently, therefor he will be less likely to increase gas tax,lol

I want to talk about Jesus Obama.

Just goes to show what a wimp Obama is. I remember when Obama said after 9/11 he didn't need to wear a flag pin on his suit to show his patriotism, but know he wears one all the time.

I just can't stand him.

Well, we'll put it to you, like repubs used to put it to us when the Hick was in office: He's there now, and ain't sh*t you or any other whiner can do about it, so DEAL WITH IT.

I advise all Republicans to NOT buy any American or foreign cars built by the UAW.

A full boycott of the UAW that supported creep boy Obama is in order NOW!

Why can't they go take a hike? He should drive whatever he feels like driving. Greenies these days don't know crap about cars so they should just get lost.

Whats so ironic about all of this is its gas mileage on par with a compact V6 luxury crossover, or midsize V6 crossover at 16 23. Its funny Im sure no one is complaining about those vehicles that give the impression that they aren't getting poor gas mileage

Just because the guy is in politics doesn't mean he has to drive a freaking Prius.....give him a break already.
