2010 Honda Ridgeline: full details revealed
Although pricing has yet to be announced, Honda has provided details of its 2010 Honda Ridgeline pickup truck. The 2010 model is the upgraded version to the 2006 Ridgeline, the first 4-door pickup to get a 5-star crash safety rating. Two trim levels will be available – RT and RTS.

Erik Berkman, vice president of American Honda Motor, in a statement, said that the maximum tow rating of the new Ridgeline is 5,000 pounds, making the new Ridgeline excel at “hauling motorcycles, towing a boat or even taking the curvy road home.” The model comes with standard equipment for towing including an integrated tow hitch, transmission and oil coolers, heavy duty brakes, dual radiator fans and a wiring harness for a 7-pin trailer hook up (pre-wiring only on RT).

So the Ridgeline gets the FUGLY Honda Pilot front end, btw if you like the Pilot go get a Pathfinder, better car with similar styling (boxy). If you like those, then get the real deal and pickup a Liberty.

The almost-truck Ridgeline is kind of a disappointment to me, I'd rather spend the cash on a new Avalanche with color-matched panels (so much nicer than the cladding). Throw in a V8 and have some fun. V8, is that a word Honda even uses? Probably not since the new RL still doesn't have one offered.

On a side not did anyone else notice that there is a new TSX with a V6 now. Not sure why they went that route adding all the weight up front with no AWD option when they could have dropped in the RDX 2.4 turbo 4cyl. with AWD.

Turbo would not fit under the hood

As ugly as it is... the car mags will hail it as the best in the business. I guess if you build high quality cars for so long folks dont care if your products are ugly are in some cases gotten worse in interior quality, less gas mileage, less agile, anyway...

Could not agree more with your comments. I remember Car and Driver comments, "The truck for people that don't like trucks". Honda soon found out the people that don't like trucks don't buy this POS. as sales failure from day one.

It may be ugly (it is) but it's a terrific all-around vehicle. Good performance and handling, very good ride, roomy, comfortable interior, useable truck bed (the two-way tailgate is brilliant), big trunk under the bed and decent fuel economy (I've seen a range of 17-22 mpg and all around average of 19 mpg). Also it's my ski vehicle and it's great in snow with the standard tires.
I would buy a second one in a heartbeat--first I've got to wear this one out (it only has 66k miles).

The F-150 is the superior truck for the half tons, although the chev is ok,

Its missing the most important thing in a real truck, a low range! This is a nice car, just not a serious truck.

I am a fan of Honda and know they are safe, but they suggest that they are the first to have 5 star crash ratings? They couldnt be comparing this to the half ton line up? They all had 5 stars for a while, I wish Honda made the ridgeline with a lowrange and increased there off road ability, something to compete with the f-150 Rapture, I am a Honda fan that likes to dream, lol

Enforcement, I have owned a few Honda dirt bikes and driven there quads, you are right, they are better off road than the Ford Rapture, but there is still no comparison between the Ridgeline and the Rapture off road, I would like to see a race between the two on the Baja 1000, lol I wonder who would win. The Ford!
