A closer look: The most underrated car in BMW's lineup? Exterior

As you know we have not been big fans of the current crop of BMW designs.

We've never questioned the way they drive, just the way they look.

Besides the 6-series, there is one other car in the lineup that we actually think looks great.

And it's probably the most under appreciated.

We're talking about the BMW 530xiT touring wagon.

Great lines, AWD, pano roof, power tailgate, plenty of storage room, Bangle butt removed and the rightness of the BMW drive and performance.

Unfortunately, becuase it has the WAGON moniker, most people will pass it buy for an SUV without even giving it a chance.

And we say they're missing out on somethng great.

If you're looking for the car that has it all, make sure you test drive this beauty.

The truth is, a 5-series doesn't look great. Only a small percentage of humans feel that it does. All BMWs ride well, and they are excellently branded. And that's what sells them, in spite of poor reliability figures, high maintenance costs, and now, being ugly.

Imagine what kind of company BMW would be if their cars we just a hair more reliable than the industry average, and they were attractive. But that is unlikely. Their sales figures confirm that BMWs don't have to look good to sell well.
