2010 Citroen DS3 breaks cover! Mini Cooper in great danger!
To be launched at the Frankfurt Motor Show this September is the Citroen DS3 supermini, which is meant to pose a competition against the Mini and the Fiat 500. Citroen is hoping that the DS3 supermini, which is the first car in a DS range, would give the brand an image boost.

The new model is based on the next C3, which isn’t due until 2010. It’s remarkable that the production car has stayed very close to the concept car, which starred in the latest Geneva show. There are only two apparent differences. One would be the tailpipes in which a twin outlet replaces the concept car’s large single exhaust. The second difference is the installation of a conventional aerial instead of the concept car’s BMW-style fin. The wheels were unchanged. Its features include a fully glazed rear, with conventional C-pillars replaced by the rear window.

Isn't this the third car this week that threatens the Mini.

Phew, we are saved from another ugly small car. This one especially lacks style, there are no flowing edges or any continuing theme through out the car. It's as though 20 designers each made a part without being allowed to see what the the other designers were doing, and while they were putting it together they ran out of paint, rather then not painting the last bit, they ran out and bought cheapest stuff they could find... which ended up being some aging teal wall paint that nobody else would buy.

I mean look at it, there is a crease in the upper door panel, and only on the door, the front and rear quarter panels act as though it never even existed. And then there is that awkward partial pillar, sure it's unique but in a flip flopping sort of way... almost as though the designer wasn't sure if the person who designed the door was going to paint all the way up the rear of the door or not... so he decided to compromise and call it "art". The front and some various other parts of the car (including the aforementioned partial pillar) try to convey an aggressive/sharp styling, yet when taken from the rear the car looks like a bubble, with not a single hard edge in sight... FFS this thing is an abomination. I'm glad I won't have to see these things on the street.

well I found where that crease went in some other pictures... to bad it was intercepted by a very out of place door handle.
