SPIED: 2010 Mercedes-Benz E63 Seen In The Wild 3 Months Before US Debut

SPIED: 2010 Mercedes-Benz E63 Seen In The Wild 3 Months Before US Debut
001,

Came across this mean looking 2010 E63 AMG in Ridgewood, NJ yesterday evening.  Although it seems to be relatively subtle at first glance, the finer details show what is beneath.  It look like an absolute beast with its quad tipped exhaust and venting placed ahead of the front wheel well.

Although I did not have my proper camera with me, I snagged a couple shots of the E63 with my Nokia telephone.  (click link for second photo)

Enjoy,
00R

styling of the E-class on the whole is a complete failure...couldnt be seen driving such poorly desgined vehicle.

the last gen E-class was, hands down, the most elegant/stylish looking E-class made.

And what do you know about car design? You don't like it, many people do. The new E class looks like the old one, just a tad boxier and sportier. I'm digging it.

don't get your panties in a bunch...it's just criticism.

i feel it's ugly, especially compared to the last-gen...deal with it!

Same implies to you, What do you know about car design? Design is subjective but majority of people(almost everybody who i heard on car forums and in real) think new E class is an average design, not something what you would expect from MB especially when S and CL are class leaders in design and a step back from previous generation's more elegant E class.

What does class leading design have to do with this? There is no such thing as class leading design since design can only be subjective.

There can be such a thing as "class-leading design," especially since Mercedes has had it as major selling-points for both the S-Class and CL-Class for years now.

The new e looks like a Toyota Camry. The coupe is a little better because of the lights and lines.

the front I can deal with, somewhat aggressive I guess...but the rear looks like lincoln MKZ or whatever you call it

I would of rathered they stick to the S-class and C-class theme for the sedan rear-ends. a mix between the two would of looked a lot better than this design

I was going to point that out as well Eric. Why on Earth did Mercedes look to their already-old A- and B-Classes for design inspiration of their new E-Class? I love the E-Class until the lights.

i don't think photos do the new e-class justice. i wasn't a big fan until i saw it in person. i think it looks really good, even the rear end. there is some detail to the sheetmetal that doesn't translate well with the photos - the back doesn't resemble a Hyundai at all 'in the metal'. if anything, the last e-class was a departure with it's softened, swoopy styling. This car successfully resurrects the classic MB styling of the 80's E-class (w-124 i believe)and the w-140 s-class.
Inside and out, it makes a statement about MB reasserting it's old reputation for impeccable quality standards, that's what i think they wanted, and i think it works.

AMG always makes the best-looking versions of all the Mercedes cars, and the differences are quite scary. The aggressive AMG bits really set off the rest of the natural aggressiveness of the front-end of the E-Class design.

i like the new one a lot better. if we're talking about taillights, the old model reminded me of a taurus in the rear. like the new one tons better. looks awesome in person. and thats coming from a hardcore bmw guy
