Topless Fun! Infiniti G37 vs. Lexus IS Convertible Which Is REALLY The Better Cruiser?

Topless Fun! Infiniti G37 vs. Lexus IS Convertible Which Is REALLY The Better Cruiser?

The 2009 Infiniti G37 and 2010 Lexus IS, strive to offer a bit of everything — looks and luxury, windblown performance and modest practicality — for less money than the cheapest Porsche. Both the G37 and IS have retracting metal roofs, and both descend from sport sedans, though Infiniti also offers a coupe that’s the direct basis of this convertible.

If the dilettante Sebring scores a 1 on the serious-convertible spectrum, and a Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder is a perfect 10, give the Lexus a solid 6 and the Infiniti a 7. Unsurprisingly, the Infiniti is more frolicsome while the Lexus presses its brand advantages in luxury and refinement, including a roof that works faster and smoother. But both cars come with compromises, especially the meager top-down trunk space that can leave owners literally holding the bag.

It's the Infiniti! Prettier, sharper, and more fun to drive.

Neither. Jeep Wrangler Unlimited, half doors, no top - with two longboards.

I prefer coupes, but if I was looking at a convertible, it would have to be the G37. It has the best total package of the high end convertibles abailable today.

Definitely the G37, its more sportier looks wise and driving dynamics.

I would never buy a used Lexus. Lexus owners usually don't get rid of their Lexus vehicle unless something has gone really bad.

Interesting. The g35 has had the highest resale value in it's class since 2005. The IS is middle of the road because the first IS was such a bad attempt at a 3 series. Infiniti has done a great job trying to out 3 the 3. Not quite there yet, but closest anyone has come to date.

I actually like the G over the 3 and i own a 3. Its simply more fun to drive. If you add gadgets, smoothness, ride and other things that are added to a car than i like the 3 better. But engine for engine i pick the G. Transmission for transmission the G. Im talking about the 328. The 335 is different. Evewn though i prefer the 135 over both. I have driven all these cars by the way. Never have driven the IS,but based on presentation and looks the G has my vote.

It's not a blow-out for the Infiniti as the tone of all of you would suggest. Basically an answer to the question of "which brand do you prefer" would sum up which car you would choose.

I would take the Lexus. I'm bored with both of these companies trying to out-BMW BMW in this segment. At least you get more refinement in the IS.

Disappointed it wasn't a 3 way comparison including the 335 convertible. Haven't driven one of those yet and am interested how it stacks up to it's cousins regarding those "little" things like road noise, roof insulation, quality of voice command recognition, handling, etc. Those are great insights if you are truly in the market for one of these cars. Anyone see such a comparison written yet?

Coupe or Convertible, I would prefer the G37 to the IS or 3 series.

The BMW 135i cabrio would blow the doors off either of them and at a far lower cost.

If you read my post again i said i was comparing the g37 to the 328. "the 335 is different" is what i said. Also I can care less what car reviews say or think, they are biased half the time. If I like a care more than another car than thats my opinion, your entitled to yours.

Just give me the cash.

I'll go and buy the BMW.
