Report: 2012 Range Rover LRX Could Be Revealed By Mid Next Year
Guys, this car is STUNNING! Way to go Mc Govern. First, a little background on this concept.

The Land Rover LRX Concept is described as a cross-coupé, and dramatically extends the scope of what Land Rover stands for. Though smaller than Freelander 2 / LR2, the LRX is conceived as a premium car, designed to appeal to new customers in the luxury and executive sector - those who want many of the benefits of a 4x4 and the visual presence of a larger vehicle, but in a more compact package.

The first all-new Land Rover revealed since Gerry McGovern became the company's design director, Land Rover LRX Concept is a natural extension of the Land Rover range, complementing the existing models with a car that will help to define a new segment. Its many recognisable Land Rover design cues include bold new interpretations of the signature clamshell bonnet, the floating roof and the solid 'wheel-at-each-corner' stance.

Dynamically designed and arrestingly attractive, Land Rover's LRX concept has won much praise on the show-car circuit and now we have the first tentative confirmation that the production version may be revealed as early as the middle of next year--June 17 2010 to be exact.

Why the specific date? Because this marks 40 years to the day since the original Range Rover was first revealed to the public, and since the production LRX will be badged as a Range Rover it is entirely possible that this is when it will be revealed.

it looks like an IPHONE in the center dash. I love that idea. I love my IPHONE and to be able to integrate it into the dash like that instead of everyone else making the connection in the glove box or armrest storage where you cant see it.

Cool for the concept, but it would be nice to offer an area just for smartphones/PDA's. Some makers have just a cubie for your phones as an afterthought.

If they can improve the quality like that of say FORD or TOYOTA, this is a sure winner.

Agree. Land Rover has been in the bottom of the barrel when it comes to reliability and dependibility. It seems that ALL Land Rovers old and new have had half of their life span spent in the Shop.

I believe that TATA will focus on quality. Owning these premium brands, TATA is focused on more than a company would normally be and if smart, will try to increase the image not only of the parent company, but the prestige of the brands they now own. Offering the worlds most inexpensive cars and also offer prestigious products is different I would say. So far, TATA has done a good job pushing forward the designs of Jaguar, don't see any reason the same would not be in store for Rover.

Perfect for a "sporty" diesel engine during these energy challenged times.

WHOA, just checked out the rest of the pictures, what a GREAT concept!! I love it. Keep it in the sub $40K range and there will be a waiting list. The X3 now has a better alternative, and the Q5 a more "sporty" alternative.

This is the niche that the X6 should have captured. Traditionally the 6-series BMW is a 2 door coupe. Why then shouldn't the X6 have been based on that platform and carry the same number of doors? It's like when BMW named the 540i and it actually had a 4.4L engine. My OCD killed that for me. Anyway, I wish them the best with it. Quality will not improve overnight unfortunately and it is likely that this vehicle will suffer the same fate as those before.

I do hope TATA motors will improve the quality of these vehicles. They definetly kick butt off road.

Interesting carpet, especially with those lights integrated, and stunning sunroof. Looks like it is similar to the one that Maybach offers, where you can dim the transmittance.

Definitely a beauty, but es mentioned above, quality needs to be on spot to enable it to be successful.
