2010 Lexus LS Spillage On The Web - SZ Performance Version Is Confirmed!
A brochure for the 2010 Lexus LS has leaked, and there are now images of the LS 460, the LS Hybrid, and the new LS “Version SZ”

The biggest new of the day is the verification of a performance variant of the LS called “Version SZ”. From these photos, it looks like a new grille, new front & rear bumpers, new side steps, and some exclusive wheels. Nothing on the interior, save that there will be paddle-shifts in this “LS-Sport”.

These rims look like the ones off the Aston Martin DBS to me, if anything.

It's time for ToyLex to stop copying Mercedes-Benz.

Get's some new designers or get out of the business, ToyLex!

Your statement would make sense if the LS actually looked like a Mercedes. But then again, most of your statements don't.

err no. Not a copy buddy. The Leather interior colors are nice though. Especially the all white. That's pretty. The white/black combo looks pretty cool too, if you like the sporty two-tone feel.

Uhhh. Why? The Lexus LS is the antithesis of "sporty".

I don't like what they did to the grille of the hybrid at all, but other than that these are nice updates.

The LS is not a sporty car, no, but that doesn't mean they can't throw a mesh grille and bigger wheels on the car. It's the best-looking version by far now.

Looks like they added nightvision to the car as well. Nice.

huh? a performance version of the LS? why does it make sense to create a "performance" version of softly sprung car with terrible dynamics? who buys the LS for performance reasons?

M = Motorsports
AMG = Aufrecht Melcher Grossaspach
SZ = marketing gimmick

what does it MEAN?

answeranswer - 8/26/2009 4:57:39 PM

SZ: The two letters when put together refers to all the people who bitch about Lexus not being "sporty" enough will still bitch when they try to offer "sporty" models.

bout time they offer more models, interiors etc..., i hope they do it like the germans an offer cloth seats on top of line models, 760il, s600 and S8...FACT

Cloth is nice, doesn't feel cold in the winter and doesn't burn in the summer.

Germans do offer cloth seats but i don't think cloth seats is an option on cars you mentioned(760i, S600 and S8) anywhere in the world. Maybe they are optional in V8 variants in some markets.

I'm not too fond of that dark grey LS with that holed grille design. I think it looks far too sporty and aggressive and doesn't match the character of the LS in any way.

WillisWillis - 8/26/2009 9:45:27 PM

Jesus Christ, why hasn't this moron been banned yet? Everything he says is just complete and utter BS.

This is just a sporty body kit and that doesn't make the LS any sportier. I believe its rivals such as the S class come with a sports suspension option. And what does Lexus have to counter the S63 and S65 AMG? Nothing. So, Huu76, STFU, troll.

It looks as if its more luxurious. I agree with Willis, This isnt a sport package. The F series (Finesse) is the performance variant of Lexus.

"Toyota leads, BMW and MB now follow." I hate to say it but that's true on some points ... and not true on many other. Hybrid, let's face it, Toyota got their fingers on the N America market's pulse and now MB and BMW are having to offer hybrid models. As for design and some features, I don't agree. Lexus started purely as a luxury car (albeit riding on Toyota platforms) and very little weight on performance. But BMW's M models and MB's AMG models (which have been in place for quite some time, even before Lexus' arrival) are what forcing Lexus to come up with better performance and the so-called F series.

As for "Venza's competitor", sorry but I recall hearing about cross-over and the X cars from BMW well before Venza. But to tell you the truth, I hate all of these cross overs anyway regardless of what car companies they come from.

Ahhh yes. Another Lexus for everyone to lose their shit over. Lexus should just stop releasing cars. They are angering too many people who drive European cars. Lexus, please stop releasing new models so these people stop whining.

people hate what they don't understand or what they don't know, that's the definition of the word ignorance. which is what 90% of the posters here are. SZ isn't even anything new. Japan had a Toyota Supra SZ version. That was over 10 years ago. As far as I know the SZ supra had a tuned suspension and more torque than a regular supra turbo. Did anyone here actually read the article? Probably not because no one here posting is Japanese so no one here actually knows what it says. But you can continue to hate on the version SZ of this car that's probably not even going to be released here in America. Did anyone else not notice this is right hand drive? That's JDM not american.

I think the LS would appear so much better if Lexus did something about that little 'kink' before the C-pillar. Although it is somewhat necessary, it still ruins the flow of the greenhouse and reminds me of the old entry level Infiniti I35 sedan.
