550hp V-10 Powered Manhart BMW Z4 E85
The previous generation BMW Z4 is still a head-turner. The E85 platform has been and still is considered by BMW enthusiasts one of the most fun rides to own. While the discussion focus has been lately on the new, redesigned E89 Z4 Roadster, there are bimmer fans out there craving for an older Z4.

Manhart Racing, a German company known for “pumping up” the power in cars by replacing the original engine with a more powerful one, decided to give a present to the Z4 fans. Taking a stock Z4, Manhart managed to turn it into a powerful Z4 M featuring a V10 powerplant.

The 5.0 liter V10 engine from the M5 produces 550 horsepower and takes the tuned up Z4 M from 0 to 60 mph in JUST 3.9 seconds.

if they can get the M5's 5.0L V10 into the smaller previous gen Z4, how can BMW say they can't fit the smaller M3 4.0L V8 into the larger new Z4? Come on M division, that would be a wicked machine...

Ohh I bet they could get the damned V12 in the new Z4. It's got a solid FOOT of room between the radiator, and the grill, and that's with the inline 6. So surely the V8 has to fit.

Still, without a locking diff, the Manhart is just not as fast as it could be. . . Sad.

That E85 Z4 is so cool. That is a roadster! The S65 V-8 fits into the engine bay of the new E89 Z4 (second generation Z4). They put out the 30i & 35i sixes first, and then in about 12-16 months follows an M Roadster. They like to say they are not going to build one, as to sell as many as they can with the smaller engines. So plan on a new E89 M Roadster with the M3 S65 V-8!

The previous Z4 was a head turner? Yes, I turned my head to puke when I saw one. I hated the Z4 compared to the Z3. The Z3 has smooth flowing lines and didnt look like the front of the car from the windshield forward was chopped off and replaced.

I'll still take a M-roadster any day.

The last Z4 M was insane. My buddy at a car shop owns one and let me take it for the day (we traded cars for a day). It was so fun to drive. I would love to own a the new version when it drops.
