Official: Fiat Punto Evo! Are you ready to drive this in the United States?
One of the most exciting cars to be displayed at the Frankfurt Motor Show is the Fiat Punto Evo, the revised version of the Grande Punto. The model, which is expected to go on sale in the UK in the spring, gets upgrades in its styling as well as with its engine range, which now includes the innovative 1.4-liter petrol Multiair unit.

The Alfa Romeo Mito would be the first car in the Fiat family to receive the engine while the Punto Evo would be the second. The innovative Multiair system is claimed by Fiat to reduce fuel consumption and CO2 emissions by 10%, improve power by 10% and torque output by up to 15%. The system works by allowing direct control of air and combustion in engines, cylinder by cylinder and stroke by stroke, without the use of a conventional throttle.

They better change the name, Punto is a derogatory slang term in some languages.

I can't think of a single language where "point" is considered derogatory. It means the same in Italian as it does in Spanish. It's idiot wannabe-latinos that manage to twist the meaning of this word.

Same could be said about the 430bhp from the 6.2 liter

Ever tried a 125cc competition kart ?

BTW, the Chrysler 300 STR8 I drove a few months ago was not really something I can call "exciting"

It all depends on the weight of the CAR

Cute. But the design is too sophisticated for us.

I realy miss the Neon, especially the SRT4. Should have kept and updated/refined it. The punto will fill a need in the lineup. Ive heard some good things about it but time will tell.
