Cadillac Production CTS Coupe Video Hits The Netosphere: Re-Igniition
General Motors has released a new 60-second spot for its Cadillac brand called "Re-ignition", which showcases the firm's forthcoming models including the CTS Sport Wagon, the new 2010 SRX crossover and most importantly, at the final segment of the clip, the production version of the CTS Coupe that is due to arrive in U.S. showrooms the summer of 2010.

We only get a quick glimpse of the two-door sports coupe, but from what we can tell, the vehicle's exterior styling has remained remarkably close to the concept car that was shown at the 2008 Detroit Auto Show.

According to a recent announcement from GM, the CTS Coupe's range will include a BMW M3-challenging (we doubt that it will target the more expensive M6 Coupe) "V" model boasting the same 6.2-liter supercharged V8 with 556-horsepower as the CTS-V Sedan.

At first glance it looks like the G35

Fantastic - a metaphor for the country leaping into the future.

Joe I thought about that. They were going in release of vehicles, CTS being the first model and the Coupe the last released and everything else between.

oh I know, but it's still visually awkward to see them getting fatter and fatter.

I got chill bumps. Love the commercial. Smart, True and exciting. I am starting a CTS coupe fund right now. I want the V series CTS coupe in silver with black interior. Just go ahead and count me in.

just watched it for the 3rd time. My Dad watched it with me. He said that was the best commercial for an American Car company he has seen.

The glass-to-metal ratio on the side is off. Makes the car too thick on the side.

The top of the hood should start a little lower. On the subject of the hood: most cars that have a short axis-to-dash ratio usually have a long front overhang instead (usually FWDs). This car has both short axis-to-dash ratio AND short overhang, indicating that the hood is too short (or the wheel well is much too large, but that's not the case here).

The rear finish appears better (though still suffers from the excessive sheet metal).

Viewed along the side from back to front, the car starts with coupe proportions and ends with Prius proportions. Cadillac has stepped up car design considerably and I applaud them for that, but improvements are necessary, most especially in ditching their "trademark" design of excessively sharp lines in odd places (right through the axis of the car from hood to trunk, angular head and tail lamps).
