The best handling Porsche ever?

It seems that each time I write about one of these cars I say it is the best Porsche ever and each time the next one is another step forward.

This time I can safely say the Cayman S is not only the best "streetable" Porsche; but also perhaps the best handling production sportscar of any make on the market.

The secret to any Porsche is decade after painstaking decade of learning, refining and reworking a basic concept.

I still think the Lotus Elise takes the trophy for Handling.

Since I have yet to drive this sexy looking car, I will have to reserve my opinion as best handling sports car. I have driven the Lotus Elise and it is a wonder and so much fun. If it is better than that car, kudos!!!

I have heard it said and seen it written so many times since the launch of the Cayman. "How does it fit between the Boxter and the 911?"

The 911 has virtually reached the end of the road in development terms, certainly for competition use. I see it going further upmarket, becomming (slightly) softer and more luxurious to appeal even more to the wealthy posers.

The Cayman will be THE sports car in the range and the basis for Porsche to continue to be the dominant make in sports car racing. The chassis is probably the best in the world and is capable of handling a LOT more power.
