Spied: 2011 Volkswagen Jetta Caught Testing in California
It seemed that a number of 2011 Volkswagen Jetta photos surfaced on the web on Monday, Automotive Traveler was among the first to post theirs, coming in at about 6 PM EDT. Unlike most of the photos posted, the shooters at Automotive Traveler got crisp, clear shots of the 2011 Jetta on the road, at speed. While there wasn't their usual analysis, owing in part to the quickness in which the photos were posted, they did note some interesting camo on the hood. Could VW be testing a gasoline hybrid or diesel hybrid? More high res photos, front and rear, available at Automotive Traveler.

Blah...Das Auto is a Das-appointment already. Sorry for the lame pun. I'm a old style square headlamp small body Jetta guy. My brothers 2001 Jetta 1.8T in silver with 17" wheels, leather, heated seats, monsoon stereo with MP3 keg, sunroof, standard was a hoot to drive. The current Jetta is a baby Passat and more girly than ever. This looks to try and play off the current CC.

And while I like the CC, I don't feel it fits in with its competition. Ever since they made the current ugly Jetta, the pricing has not been on par with its core segment. But I guess college girls have daddies with wallets to go buy them nice new white Jettas.

Again sorry for the strong opinion, but Jetta lost it's respect in the early/mid 2000's with the redesign.

The sides alone look bloated. Slap a Toyota badge on it and everyone would hate it.
