2010 Lexus GX Facelift to hit the dealerships by December
Lexus dealerships in the US will be getting their first shipments of the facelifted 2010 Lexus GX utility vehicle in December. But before it arrives here, the brand will first make a splash in Shanghai. Meanwhile, the redesigned Toyota Land Cruiser Prado, a sister vehicle to the Lexus GX, will make its debut at the 2009 Frankfurt Auto Show. Both the Land Cruiser Prado and the GX get updated interiors, all-new sheet metal, and revised mechanicals.

Just a facelift? No fully redesigned platform... just the same old same old but just slightly softer and sliggghhhtttly more technical?

Well, I know that. lol
It's just that the car... I kinda want it to really be a soccer mom's car with off-road capabilities for the daddy to brag about. Thata way, Lexus would actually take it seriously. But Toyota might not because this car usually gets in the way of their Land Cruiser here in the US.

Useless thread IMHO. There are accurate pics of the 2010 GX470 face lift on other websites.

I don't think the new Prado (GX470 in US) is a facelift. More like an all new car. Current Prado came in 2002 so now it's 7 years and time for all new model. And people the above photo is not of 2010 Prado (GX) so wait, you can hate later.

And for those who don't know, Prado is not exactly GX470. Prado is not offered in V8 and the engines that are offered in prado are not there in Luxury Prado aka GX470.
Prado and GX470 is the same case as Land Cruiser and LX570. Prado and GX would have same basic structure, doors, roof..etc but the headlights, bumpers design, choice of engines, trims, options, quality, price...etc will be different.

I love the old land cruisers. The Tank looking ones. Man they can take a beating. My buddy has one with high mileage and he beats the living hell out of that car and it hasn't had any problems. He drives it off road on dirt roads with big pot holes and rocks, through a few feet of snow, through flooded streets when it rains bad, over island and big sidewalks. I mean this guy kills the thing lol and its built like a tank.

Can it beat the new 2010 Toureg? That thing is also supposed to be an amazing improvement, with a lighter unibody structure and more aluminum bits. Now the X5 needs to bring something more to the table, and the ML is going to be at the end of the pack again.
