What's Your Favorite Unrealized Concept Car?
With the Frankfurt Motor Show around the corner we're ready for wild concept cars from what's shaping up to be a European Tokyo Motor Show, but will they see the light of day? What's your favorite unrealized concept car?

If we have to choose a favorite, it would be the insane Dodge Tomahawk concept — a four-wheeled motorcycle featuring a 500 HP Viper V10 wedged underneath the seat. With a claimed top speed of 350 MPH (attainable, apparently, only by the suicidal), it was a car far more dramatic and creative than anything achieved by science fiction, showing a creativity and bravado that somehow disappeared at the company shortly after its appearance.

My favorite unrealized concept car is this Cadillac Sixteen reviewed by Top Gear: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rYsrXGbBMGA

Personally for me not putting into production of this Cady is one of the biggest mistakes of GM's managers.

They can still launch it!! Late 2010 as an 2011 model...

There's no luxury sedan that looks anywhere near as nice as the Sixteen!

But we all know that the actual car would be no where as glamorous as the concept. I'm still drooling over that long hood and the beautiful engine beneath it. I wonder if the working concept was actually using all those cylinders... I mean... it couldn't just be placed on a prototype vehicle's electric motor platform because Captain Slow was driving it pretty quickly. Special effects aside, V16s are known for their balance and quietness.

Just what I was thinking. The sixteen was really sweet. That Tomahawk was outrageous!

Peugeot Quasar was kinda cool back in 1984, or maybe it's only because I was a kid and easily impressed by digital screens and all these mirowave-like buttons.

They made a prototype but unfortunately that was all. :(

i was just looking at the ford GT90 earlier, that thing could have been the new FORD GT but they stuck with the big bulky update of the original GT40. And for the guy above, Wait till next month when the Production version of the LF-A is at the Tokyo motor show, it's no longer just a concept.

I hesitate to agree with two postings above.

The Cadillac Sixteen: I don't want to discount it just yet, fellas. If the guys at Cadillac are smart, which I think they are, they will use a very close design to this for the upcoming uber-luxury car that they have planned, and that we have yet to see a rendering for. I will admit that the 16 cylinder engine is NOT what the market wans at this time and would be so bespoke that it would be too expensive and plop Cadillac in very unfriendly territory. I think a twin turbo direct injection version of the LC3 "Northstar" V8 (with about 600+hp) should do the trick. I think there's hope.

The Pontiac G8 ST: That's not a concept. It's sold in Australia and New Zealand as the Holden Ute.

Cadillac Sixteen. Hands down. If Cadillac is to maintain it's momentum forward (in spite of the debacle of it's parent, GM) it will need to introduce the step up, true flagship model it currently lacks in order to stay relevant to it's market and the competition. Hopefully, we will see some renderings soon. Also, the Chrysler Chronos would have a nice one to produce. Chrysler is another company that really needs an image boost and as a limited production car it would have done the trick. Not to mention that until recently, Chryco has been the most successful of all car companies in translating a car from concept to reality with relative ease and, in most cases, with little or no loss of the concepts original style and grace.
