You obviously don't get out enough.
Park this next to a CLS and you'll go "Ww, the GS does kinda look bloated. It looks like they got an okay looking sedan, and pumped too much air into it'.
In a few years it will be a nothing-car, just like the previous GS.

The new GS is definitely one of the most beautiul car out there. It has style, realiability, soul and the most beautiful interior design out there. Please don't compare to the CLS because the CLS cost way more than the GS but it does not matter what anyone here think. Because Toyota/Lexus selling a bunch of the Toyota/Lexus brand, don't hate Toyota/Lexus for making better, more styling, performance vechicle for an afforable price than other car company. Think about Toyota/Lexus must be doing right for them to sell so much car each year.<br>

I really don't try to bash the japper cars too much, because they are pretty decent, I guess. However, this new GS looks alot like the maxima, I think.

neighbor currently owns a GS and next door down a frickle faced girl drives a Maxima. Whenever parked beside each other its like comparing apples to an orange. There are no comparison my son!

Since you want to compare the Lexus GS to the CLS, let me put in my own 2 cents.
If you guys read European Car magazine "The Car Magazine" specifically, there was a comparison b/w The CLS, The BMW 5 series and of course THE LEXUS-GS.
The GS far out parformed the CLS in every aspect...performance, quality, etc.
Besides the CLS is a mixture of old Japanese designs...Namely the Infiniti-J30 which was way way ahead of it's time when it came out in the early 90's and now you want to claim that the CLS is the first 4 door coupe.
Even the front light mirrors that of the ES and if you can remember when the ES came out, most car magazine were calling the front head lights controversial..not so for the CLS.
Mercedes, Jaguars, BMWs etc are all living of off what is termed "Goodwill". Meaning that people buy them not for the fact that they are reliable or luxurious but because they think they have "Snub" appeal. In short these cars are nothing short of "The Emperor's New Clothes" if you guys are familiar with the story.
As far as luxury, reliability is concerned, the japanese are top not only with their luxury brands but also with most of their other cars.
It is about time we accept the fact that the Japanese are doing an excellent job when it comes to luxury cars.

I have a 99' GS 400 and this is not a nothing car. Yes its handling is not a good as a true sports car or even a BMW but it has the one thing I buy a car for, "It works". I put 163,000 miles on it so far and the only thing I have replaced is a cam shaft censor and a starter. The car never even made it into the shop until 88,000 miles. Let's see a BMW do that or any european car for that matter. That is why I like a Lexus and that is why more people are liking lexus. They make nice cars that run forever.

suppose James is complimenting Lexus if pictures of GS reminds of either Camry or Prius because there interior is among the best in quality and ergonimics.
