Cool look at the upcoming Audi S8 and more

I also think that the Audi shield is getting a little old a little early.

The grille itself seems like it will be tough to update over the years.

In the manner that BMW and Mercedes grilles have evolved over the years, this seems like a lost cause.

I bet the new A4 will phase this monster out.

Or at the least improve upon it.

Audi simply must nail the next generation A4.

It has to be close to perfection to compete with the likes of whats happening in the industry. (new 3, new IS, new G, new C)

I'm a BMW fan, but I'd rather sport that than the 7 series anyday. I think it looks great.

The Audi grill will have less chrome around it in future models, just check out the Shooting Brake concept, Lemans (R8) sports car, and Q7. It already has presence, good or bad, so the chrome will get pulled back, into the inside of the grill, not around it and tapering (thick on top, thinning towards bottom). I love the grill, personally, but feel Audi needs to take it a little further, making the overall design more muscular, not just the mouth.

I like Audi designs, second only to BMW (Merc IMO has lost its way design-wise). While Audi design doesn't excite quite as much as BMW's, I respect the clean, sporty look. My only problem with Audi is that virtually all the designs are the same (similar to BMWs in the 90s); it is basically the same thing across board on the A4, A6, and A8. Each looks like a bigger or smaller version of the other. Referring to BMW again, each model, while obviously of the same family (grille, double "light ring" headlamps), is still unique enough to make me want nearly all of them. I see no reason to buy more than one of the Audi sedans.
As for the "cow catcher" grille, I'm quite undecided; it looks obtrusive sometimes, 'specially in photos, but in person seems more tame.
