Next-generation Audi RS6 will drop the V10 engine in favor of V8
According our source from Audi, it appears that the current versions of the S6 and RS6 will be the last models which will carry the V10 engines. For those who don’t know, the S6 comes with a 5.2-liter V10 engine capable to develop 435 hp while its bigger brother, the RS6, uses a 5.0-liter V10 engine capable to develop 580 hp. It appears that the new engine developed by Audi will be a V8 engine which will deliver around 550 hp and 700 Nm of torque. Same thing might happen with the next-generation of the Bmw M5, our source said!

what's your point? didn't audi do the 10cyl before bmw? who really cares. audi did the biturbo 8cyl and then went to the 10cyl and now their going back to the 8.

The only reason audi had it before because they took it out the lambo that was easy enough for audi and also the only thing audi had to do was make a shell because the drivetrain was already there. I personally think audi rushed that because they heard BMW was dropping an V10 in the M5 and they just grabbed a v10 that was available (which was the Gallardo) and dropped it in which made them do it 1st.

Bmw's V10 engine was specifically designed for the M5 from the ground up it wasnt taken out of a loaner car from an exotic company. thats why BMW shouldn't get rid of this engine because its capable of well over 600 horses easily. but you right who cares they all copy each other RIGHT?

does it really matter if they borrowed and engine that they manufactured? so what if they did what most companies that have more than one brand ususally do?
