So Much for a Bargain: Iacocca Edition Mustang to Retail for $90,000

I can tell you that I was impressed with the clean and graceful styling of the Iacocca Edition ‘Stang when I first saw it. This semi-coachbuilt coupe (body by Gaffoglio) is to be limited to just forty-five examples (hence, the anniversary link).

Problem we see is the astonishing price tag: $90,000. Now, we’ll say that the Iacocca looks sharper than your run-of-the-mill overpriced tuner pony (cough…Saleen…cough…), but ninety grand for a Ford coupe with a live-axle, 320 hp V-8, and mere 5-spd. manual is a lot to ask for.

Media whore and profiteer Keith Martin proclaimed the Iacocca special to be destined as a future classic.

That pretty has sealed our disfavor.

Yes but Iacocca is throwing in 8 Chrysler TC clunkers to go with it.

Beautiful. Why can't the production version look more like that?

A $90,000 Rustang should also come with a nice set of luggage. . . Filled with about $85,000 in cash.

The point is,you pay for the car being rare. In a few years you will make your money back plus some.Only forty five cars being built means you will have basically one of the rarest if not the rarest mustangs ever made.True fans will appreciate this and it will instantly become a classic.
