BMW U.S. Chief: 2011 6-Series Is The Best-Looking BMW In Years. You Decide
The "best-looking BMW in years" says U.S. chief

On the eve of the Frankfurt Motor Show, BMW North American chief Jim O’Donnell tells Automobile Magazine that the next 6-series coupe and convertible will be radically different from the current cars’ styling. “In my opinion,” says O’Donnell, “the next 6-series is the best-looking car that BMW has done in years. It’s really stunning.”

The current 6 is stunning, this thing is phenomenal.

Current 6-Series is funky looking, especially from the front. The overall profile is nice though. Let's wait until we actually see the next 6 in real pictures (instead of computer generated images) before we make that decision.

Are you serious?! This is a rendering that someone made, the final design will probably look nothing like this. How are you judging the final product on a rendering?

BMWM...I agree I cant judge it either but this isnt bad but its a rendering I need an official BMW rendering.

The rendering is based on the almost nude camouflaged models running around for testing. If you look at most renderings based on such examples, they're not that far off.

Im sure it will look awesome. I do love the current 6 series and it is awesome to drive. there arent too many cars that feel good on the open road at 120mph. its not a harsh ride and you never feel like you are going that fast. the current 650 coupe weighs as much as a 335xi sedan. but with 360hp and 360tq, definitely awesome to drive.
I hope they keep a soft top. I hate hard top convertibles. they all look like frankenstein vehicles, just pieced together. its a convertible! it should have a soft top! plus, the tops are solid these days and have little to no wind noise. but apparantly people are ignorant enough that they think soft tops are still the same as they were 30 years ago.

i boosted you because i agree with most of what you said but the wind noise comment... come on dude, if you really drive a drop 650 you can't possibly say that they "have little to no wind noise".

Bimmers look good. But when it comes to customer service, it's HORRIBLE if the one you received is a lemon. You can't blame them, some of the stuff like the transmission they put in, they don't even make. No quality control possible, and they will keep their mouths shut!

Not only will they do that. But depending on the issue they will make you sign a paper stating that you will not talk about it. I know because I signed such a document.

Today, BMWs are known for having "a face that only a mother could love." And this comes from a guy who has, and loves, two Bangle-free BMWs in his garage.

Please BMW, return to making attractive cars where the worst thing that could be said was that the styling was a tad conservative. While your at it, pear down on gadgets, whittle down those defect numbers, and design an interior that is ergonomic and attractive, rather than being trendy.

I'm not holding my breath for BMW to make Cars for Steve any time soon, though I am sure that someone will like them.

Picture looks Aston Martin-y, which is good.

But I guess I'm still waiting for BMW to make anything as sexy as the 850csi and Z8.

This render is the CS shots that came out a year ago.

As a owner of the 650i cabrio, 750Li, M3 (E92), and M5 (E60), there is always room for change. I enjoyed the changes from the 1999 era; I owned the E39 (540i Sport) and loved it but change is always good, even when their are people who don't agree with it...

Bangle bashers' are just that. Soon we'll have Adrian bashers' too!

The E60 is far from attractive. Awkward is the word that best describes it.

The E92/E90 M3 is the only BMW that I find attractive. The rest of the BMWs look a little doofy.

The 750 only started to look decent when they toned down the Bangle Butt.

The 650 suffers from Bangle-Butt itis.

Change is good. But most of the BMWs of the last 8 years just plain looked wierd. Then there's the minimalist interiors that are stark and cold.

BMW lost the plot when it comes to car designs. Hopefully they'll get it back.

BMW leads in handling and driving dynamics. They do not lead in design.

considering your avatar is a Lexus symbol I assume you're a Lexus fan? If that's the case and you hate the Bangle Butt you must be pulling your hair out right about now then, since practically every new Lexus (and Toyota) comes standard with a giant case of Bangle Butt (hello LS, ES, Camry, etc.). It's fairly obvious who Toyota is cribbing their styling from.

Beautiful is good. BUT it should be unique, original, and a BIG surprise! It really has to be stunning. The current one isn't bad, but despite its timeless look, it just doesn't excite me.

The E-coupe is great. This 6-series has quite some expectations. Lexus... please... a new SC NOW!

The S5 and E coupe are really not in the same class as the 6. The 6 is priced a decent amount above those two. The 6 starts at 78,000 while the other two are 48,000 and 52,000.The current 6 which has been out for years, eats the new E coupe in performance figures and does so with less technology under the hood. Don't get me wrong I do love Mercedes and the E coupe I'm sure has more room and comfort, but if the new 6 was ahead of its time, the next one will just walk on the competition. The only thing wrong about the 6 is that its current styling is love it or hate it.

Even my 3 years old X3 looks "stunning" on the outside. You won't know how poorly mine drives, how horrible their "customer service" is. The hardship some BMW owners face, you have no idea!

Look at the side skirt where it meets the rear wheel well,it was stretched and blurred using photoshop. The top of the windshield on the right is a little jagged. The right side mirrors look out of place and the right headlight is not how it should look from that angle, the top of it should be longer,it was stretched up which you can tell by the jagged line where the hood meets the headlight. So that should settle it for whoever thinks this is real. The car might not look ANYTHING like this when it debuts, but personally...I hope it does. This car is sleek, sexy and screams road dominance. An ///M6 would look ///Mazing.
