Sweet!!! Hyundai pulls a fast one on us and Brings out a Sonata 2 Door Coupe!!!
Nobody saw this coming, but the Korean Automaker Hyundai has a 2 Door Coupe Version of their rakish Next Generation Sonata in the works as well.

The Last Generation Sonata 2 Door Coupe was called Tiburon. As that has been discontinued, Hyundai has space for another 2 Door Coupe in its lineup. Some thoguht that 2 Door Coupe would be the Veloster. In a way it is, but that will be the Accent 3 Door. Therefore, a hole for a Larger Coupe remains.

The Front End looks like the Next Gen Sonata. The rear in a slope position hints at a CTS-Coupe, and pays homage to past Benz Coupes. Yet, this gives it an exotic Korean appearence akin to the KIA Forte Koup. This Coupe of Course Follows Hyundais new Fluidic Design Phillosophy. Engines are unknown, but dont be too surprised if Hyundai uses its 2.4L GDI engine producing 200 HP in this Coupe

Check this very unique looking Coupe out!!

Kind of like the CTS in the back, but better.
I think Hyundai will do great with the new Sonatas.

hyundai always has something up their sleeves. I like it toyota and honda need to seriously rethinking their boring designs. hyudais may not be selling big at this point but Id give them 5 years or so and then see where they are. I think they are going to be sitting pretty

huh??? nothing on this car resembles anything on the CTS, and in no way is it better... the grill is even more hideous than the idea of actually owning and driving a Hyundai.

There is no plan for a 2-door Sonata Coupe. The photo shown in the article is photoshop-generated picture made by one of the car fans in Korea. There are still plans for Veloster becoming the next Tiburon (Tuscani) as a FF sporty car.

At least it looks better than the Acura "beak". These days it seems like Hyundai has more luxury market share than Acura. How sad is that?. The Genesis and Equus are better luxury cars than the RL!!!

I dunno Hyundaismoke, I originally looked at the Tiburon because it was a small sporty car. This thing looks like a bloated E-class coupe.

UAW I said it was a sporty car not a sports car. For example, a mini cooper is a sporty car, not a sports car.

Don't really like it but guess it would give Hyundai shoppers more choices.

Hyundaismoke, the NSX has a weak engine for a reason. Japan limited the maximum power output of all their cars. The reason why skylines all these other jdm cars are popular to modify is because the manufacturers overbuilt these engines for the amount of power they put out, making it very easy safe and cheap to get more power out of them. To say the genesis is on par with a decade old NSX just because of the power rating is silly, on a road course the NSX will annihilate the genesis due to the genesis less then optimal size/weight/distribution/suspension characteristics.
