STUD OR DUD: Is The E-Class Cabriolet More Attractive Than The Coupe/Sedan?
With the new E-Class sedan and coupe making headway within the United States, it was only a matter of time before the E-Class made its debut as a rag top.

Looking just about production ready, it seems that the boys at Autoblog.NL have predicted the E-Class Cab will make its big-time debut in Detroit come this January.

So, we can only assume that the E63 Coupe/Cabriolet are next to reveal themselves.  That is if MB decides to green light those vehicles...

What say you Spies, better or worse?

I like the coupe but not this cabriolet version. The E-Class coupe has potential of looking better and it's an acquired taste in style and purely subjective in my opinion. However if they DO have an E63 model it will be one slick Benz. I feel if they throw in wider tires the overall look of the car will appear to sit lower and have a sportier feel while not sacrificing class with sport.

If by that you mean it looks kinda boring and for an older, slower driver, I agree. Nothing really wrong with it but it's not exciting. The CLK had better proportions from what I can tell from these pics.

I'm pretty sure the Mercedes is not made out of recycled steel like the Toyota.

I'm not a fan of the Lexus IS convertible.

I prefer the BMW convertible.

I've had two previous gen E classes and the first gen CLK430 vert. So I love Mercedes. However, this thing is butt ugly as is the new E sedan. Its just the rear of the car is so damn ugly I cant believe it. M3 vert blows this out of the water. Ive converted and am enjoying the D/C transmission and hard top vert.

In fact I would buy a SAAB 93 vert before this. At least that looks good

This car isn't designed to look exciting. It's low-key and elegant and that's what buyers here generally look for and expect. In that sense it does its job.

I'm no fan of the new E coupe and convertible though. The sedan on the other hand is beautiful.

But, if this were a Japanese car you'd be the first person to say how boring and ugly it is. Funny how a badge changes everything...

mess. too thin roof line when the top is up. sagging butt. the first CLK convertible wa beautiful. the last one was a step backward, this one is reaching, as others have mentioned, solara territory.

Don't worry this rag top will be real nice quality.

In black, most definitely despite being harder to care for than some other colors.

I thought it was a Brabus with its dual foglights on both sides, and the two larger headlights look better than the coupe's, without the "gills." Is this a pre-production model because the taillights are bugging me... the trunk portion doesn't really fit with the rest - reminds me of a die-cast car.
