GM planning to grow faster than China’s auto market in 2010
In 2010, General Motors Co. will attempt to grow “a little faster” than China ’s market growth, according to Kevin Wale, president and managing director for GM’s China operations. In an online briefing, GM’s China chief said that its sales figures are in line with its forecast of more than 40% year-on-year growth.

He predicts that GM may sell more than 1.6 million vehicles in China this year, says Automotive News. In the first three quarters, GM has been outperforming China ’s overall market. Compared to Volkswagen AG and others, GM sold 55.6 percent more vehicles in China in the first nine months of the year, leading a 34.24 percent gain in the overall market. In 2008, GM had only sold 1.09 million vehicles in China.

Good for GM, do the Chinese care about quality? Judging by the items we get from them I think GM found it's perfect country to do sales in ;)

Let me inform you that their quality is improving at a rapid rate. iPods, iPhones, logitech, some high end audiophile speakers and a lot of hi-tech items are now all MADE IN CHINA and they do not break more than stuff made elsewhere. They will reach Japanese levels of quality as the Japanese were at China's quality level a couple of decades ago.

However, I will continue buying American/British/European goods as I support democracy throughout the World. Thank You.

I'm sure there are more happy people in china then there are unhappy people, to say that any system is superior without actually living under it holds little water. That being said, I like my democracy.
